Being a human is hard, and connecting with God can be even harder.
So let's meet at The Meeting Ground.
The Meeting Ground: Deepening Our Faith
Thursdays September 26-November 21
This fall we are exploring spiritual practices that help us connect with God and each other, including blessings, spiritual singing, friendship, feasting/fasting, thanksgiving, and more. Beginning with a meal at 6:00, we'll then sing together and experience a different spiritual practice each week.
From September 26-November 21 (no meeting on October 31/Halloween).
Each week is self-contained - Feel free to drop in for a single evening or as many as you'd like to.
Alongside The Meeting Ground, Thursday nights include:
4:30-5:30 Handbell Rehearsal
5:00-5:45 Book study on "Inspired: Slaying Giants, Walking on Water, and Loving the Bible Again" by Rachel Held Evans (more information below)

"Inspired" Book Study
Rev. Jim Hartley will lead a discussion group on the late Rachel Held Evans' book "Inspired". Drawing on the best in recent scholarship and using her well-honed literary expertise, Rachel examines and retells some of our favorite Bible stories and possible interpretations. Undaunted by the Bible’s most difficult passages, she wrestles through the process of doubting, imagining, and debating Scripture’s mysteries. In each chapter she pulls together a variety of stories, often from both the Old and New Testaments, to reflect on various messages. Using some reflections from her own life and faith journey, she also invites the reader “to consider how their (your) stories intersect with those of the Bible.” If you're interested in participating in this book study, please contact the church office.
